Occult Files in Vegas

Howdy! I recently got back from Killer Con 3 in Las Vegas and it was a blast!!!

This year’s convention was held at the lovely Stratosphere Hotel. I was joined at my dealer’s table by my friend, Kyle Hawke, poet and writer extraordinaire. It was great to see some familiar faces at the con and to make some new writing connections! Thanks to Wrath and his Killer Con team for this year’s fantastic event!

“Black Petals Magazine” Reviews The Occult Files

A.M. Stickel takes a look at “The Occult Files of Albert Taylor” in issue 56 of Black Petals Magazine.

Here’s a short excerpt:

An Asian-American writing about an ‘oriental’ paranormal investigator? Works for me. Author Derek Muk’s western settings are all places I’ve been, and he is true to them in THE OCCULT FILES OF ALBERT TAYLOR. Way to go, Derek!

World Horror Convention 2011

I went to the World Horror Convention 2011 in Austin, Texas from April 28-May 1, 2011. It was a blast!

It was my first time in the Lone Star State and I had so much fun not only at the con but in the city itself. Everyone I met was very friendly and hospitable.

Here are some photos from the convention, pictures of the great people I met, and the city itself(note the state capitol building. that was cool). Note also especially the picture of me with fabulous author Joe Hill (Stephen King’s son!!) He’s the guy with the beard and mustache.

Looking forward to World Horror Convention 2012 in Salt Lake City! Woo-hoo!!
